I grew up in Belgium, and there we think about the environment always.  So even now when I am transitioning between jobs and my credit is not so good, I chose to make a smart investment in my home that will be a step toward stopping climate change.

I went to Car Title Loans in San Francisco to get $1400. This is where they use your car for collateral. Mine is a 2003 Citroen, good for at least $4000 in cash. Despite my bad credit, I completed the online application and got almost instant approval. My money arrived in one day – no need to go to that title loans store on Sutter Street.

I needed a water heater because the old one was soon to be kaput. And, I wanted an tankless water heater because they use a third less energy and reduce water consumption by about eight litres a day.  Also, a store in the Mission District is offering them at a 15% discount off the full $1400 price, counting delivery and installation.  But I had to wait on delivery and installationuntil  2009 to qualify for $300 off my taxes because it’s good for the environment.  That’s more than a $500 savings, plus monthly energy and water bills will always be lower in the future.  

I use loans against car title whenever I need fast cash.  Most often, it’s for a smart, money saving purchase.
